August 2024

Reuse & Recycle

In 2023, two outstanding high school students, Edward C. and David G., noticed a New York City hotel throwing away many perfectly good towels. Instead of letting them go to waste, they collected the towels and distributed them to people in need at shelters. Their goal is to help spread the importance of staying clean and lifting spirits so that individuals can regain a sense of hope and self-worth. They strongly believe that even the smallest acts of kindness can greatly impact their community. Edward established a non-profit organization in New York City, and the website is https://hospitalityondemand.org, together with David. They have also teamed up to deliver towels to homeless people and animal shelters and work with hotels to recycle household items in the fight against climate change.

On Monday, August 12, 2024, 100 towels, 100 bed sheets, and 50 pillowcases were distributed in front of Leap Prep.
